What will my responsibilities be in this role?

The Partnership and Sponsorship Manager role forms part of the Marketing and Education directorate who are responsible for marketing, communications and educational activity including events. This is a key role, working across the organisation to identify and support the delivery and development of initiatives with external partners, including a large exhibition and high value sponsorship packages at the organisation's three-day annual conference. The post combines sales and account management, providing a central contact for external stakeholders and oversight of the society's relationships.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and positive self-starter who wants to be an integral part to the membership growth in an organisation that is making a difference for the future of children, young people and adults living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease.

Your specific duties will include:

  1. Partnership management
  • Identify and manage relationships with commercial and non-commercial partners, developing innovative opportunities
  • Respond to project proposals from external partners, negotiating contractual agreements and developing internal plans with colleagues to deliver the projects.
  • Develop, lead and evaluate on the delivery of partner projects and manage all contractual agreements arising

  1. Sponsorship and exhibition sales and management
  • To design and develop the sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, working closely with the Event Managers
  • Develop and implement appropriate sales and marketing plans to target and attract commercial partners
  • To ensure sponsorship and exhibition agreements are formalised

  1. Financial management
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reports detailing sponsorship and partnership income

What experience do I need to be successful in this post?

To be considered for this role you will need to be self-motivated and committed to providing excellent customer service. You will have:

  • Understanding of the needs of an organisation in the health or membership sector and excellent knowledge of developing partnerships and sponsorship packages including for large scale events
  • Experience and excellent knowledge of designing and selling exhibition space including at large events
  • Experience of developing and implementing marketing and sales plans for partnership opportunities
  • Excellent account management with proven project management and planning experience
  • Experience in working with budgets and handling invoices

What Key Skills do I need?

You will need:

  • Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills and ability to work with people at all levels
  • Good IT skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience using a CRM system for sales and account management
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in problem solving
