Work-Based Assessment Coordinator (permanent part-time vacancy, 21 hours a week over three days, 0.6 FTE)

Hunter Merrifield are currently looking to recruit a Work-Based Assessment Coordinator to join one of our client's Work-Based Assessment team.

The Work-Based Assessment Coordinator role is at a professional body in the health care sector. Purpose of the role

  • Provide administrative support to the Lead and Deputy Lead assessor to facilitate work-based assessment processes.
  • Proactively monitor and coordinate support for the Scheme for Registration Trainees who have been identified as in need.
  • Provide management information with regard to work-based assessments to the wider Education team.

Main duties

  • To monitor and report on trainee progress through all aspects of work-based assessment, including Hospital Eye Service (HES) completion for the Lead Assessor team.
  • To undertake the data entry, processing, reporting and other record-keeping in relation to work-based assessment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • To identify trainees who require support, and initiate and arrange support sessions, working to criteria and processes provided by the Education leadership team.
  • Provide expertise on process and lead the coordination of complaints and disciplinary processes for the lead assessor team.
  • To lead the integrity process for trainees' workplace assessment documents.
  • To coordinate the recruitment and filing of contracts of assessors and senior assessors for the College.
  • To coordinate the assessor quality assurance programme, ensuring accurate record keeping.
  • To ensure that regular feedback is sought on the service being delivered in line with the principle of continuous service agreement.

Person Specification

  • Experience in working independently and within a team
  • Experience with student record-keeping systems
  • Understanding of health care assessments
  • Familiarity with IT systems including Zoom, Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook, and previous experience with data entry and reporting systems, such as Integra and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience in minute-taking and meeting organisation
  • Familiarity with the legal requirements of handling personal data

The normal working hours for the above post will be 21 hours with a minimum of three days a week, Monday to Friday. However, the post holder may on occasion be required to work late and should therefore have some flexibility with regard to working hours.
