Hunter Merrifield is delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with the Institute of Physics to recruit 2 new credible and pragmatic Registration Officers. These reinvisioned roles are a fantastic opportunity to drive change and work with the IOP's members throughout their membership journey to gain accreditation.

As part of the membership team you will join a group who are responsible for admission and progression through all grades of membership and for providing professional recognition through registration and accreditation. They are responsible for subscription collection, records management and customer service to members. They work closely with other teams across the Institute to develop educational pathways, engage with physics based industry and inform policy, as well as to recruit and provide career support and other services to members.

What will you be responisble for in your new role?

A Registration Officer is responsible for the supporting and promoting IOP's recognised qualifications through providing accurate advice and guidance to prospective applicants.

Processing of applications for professional registration and for delivering Professional Registration workshops.

Recruitment and retention to the professional registers, which involves promoting the standards and benefits both to individuals and to businesses, providing accurate advice and guidance about the standards and how to achieve them.

Continuously monitor performance to identify improvements that can be made to processes that will encourage more individuals to apply even whilst driving up qualification standards.

Be responsible for the CPD monitoring process and supporting the accreditation of professional skills and company training schemes.

What experience will you need to enjoy success in this role?

  • Proven ability to make improvements to systems and processes whilst maintaining adherence to external requirements
  • Proven ability to build relationships and negotiate with stakeholders of all levels
  • Proven ability to provide advice and guidance on matters of a sensitive or confidential nature to individuals and organisations
  • Proven ability to work in a team and work independently
  • Experience of successfully delivering presentations
  • Experience of writing reports/minutes
  • Experience of working with volunteers is desirable
