Business Development Manager - £35k, OTE £55k

Are you ambitious, driven and have a passion for sport?

I am currently working with a membership, event and publishing business, servicing a global network of senior executives involved in sports business and sport performance worldwide. Their events are exclusive and invitation only for the senior decision makers in sport.

They are looking for an ambitious sales lead to join the team to focus on growing partnerships within the elite sports performance space, through retention of existing and sourcing of new clients for sponsorships, exhibitions and content marketing across the product portfolio.

Areas of responsibility;

  • To source new potential clients and grow an accurate database of potential new partners.
  • To nurture all client opportunities the sales cycle and build a solid pipeline of new business
  • To work with internal stakeholders at relevant stages of the sales cycle to ensure that all products sold meet the expectations of new and existing partners
  • To work with the partnerships account executive to retain and upsell existing partners
  • To build industry knowledge of the supplier market and feed that knowledge to the team

Skills, knowledge and experience;

  • A proven track record in B2B sales and consistently achieving performance goals
  • A proactive approach to sourcing new business and building an accurate and solid deliverable pipeline of new business
  • Pursues goals with energy and drive and does not give up when faced with resistance or setbacks
  • Identifies opportunities and issues, proactively acts and follows through on work activities to resolve them
  • Able to confidently negotiate with both internal and external groups and build excellent rapport, finding solutions that match the needs of all parties
  • Impressive skills of persuasion, both written and orally
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

A good understanding of the sport performance industry, sports coaching and professional sports management is desirable, but not essential.
