What will you be responsible for?

Working with the Management team to deliver new member targets as well as providing truly consultative support to your members. Taking part in and promoting member events as well as maintain the CRM that drives all comms and engagement. You will be a conduit for members to the organisation and build strong relationships that allow you to offer great advice and generate ideas that will shape a fantastic service for your members.

What do you need for this role?

You will have at least 12 months experience of working within a marketing environment. Experience of communicating with stakeholders face to face, via the phone as well as producing strong written messages is fundamental to this role. A strong work ethic and someone who genuinely enjoys working in a fast paced team you will be focused, driven and keen to really make the role your own.

Membership Account Executive

  • Up to £24000 per annum Commission

Our client, a leading membership organisation, based in the heart of the West End, is looking for a highly self motivated and professional individual to support the account manager to effectively deliver a recruitment and retention strategy.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a membership or customer focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Collecting renewal payments in the designated time.

Support the Account Manager in the management, analysis and upkeep of the team portfolio for members.

From within the portfolio identify key members/contacts and ensure they are fully engaged and are utilising information and have access to:

  • Sector/channel councils (and interest groups)
  • Legal services
  • Events and workshops
  • A quarterly activity report

A successful account executive will work collaboratively with colleagues and provide the necessary support to members. They will also use their commercial skills to identify and develop additional revenue opportunities beyond the annual membership fee:

  • cross selling opportunities
  • possible new sponsorships

Provide advice to members either directly or through liaison, including

  • Legal and regulatory affairs
  • business advice on trend forecasting
  • exchange of knowledge and ideas on Best Practice
  • Introduce members to each other where appropriate to help them develop their business opportunities

The AE's role is a balance between supporting the AM and a member facing position - the AE is expected to meet their members in person through "field-based" member visits/presentations expected to have a number of meetings per week (including evening events) and is expected to participate in events and activities.

General

Meet all internal reporting requirements

Keep updated on trends and issues affecting the Marketing sector generally.

In conjunction with appropriate staff, ensure that Office, and Health and Safety and Data Protection procedures are complied with.

Undertake such other tasks and duties as may be required from time to time.

This role allows for innovation and creativity whilst you are responsible, on behalf of the Head of Science and Innovation, for ensuring successful delivery of a portfolio of programmes as well as enabling new ways of working through the development of enhanced business processes, data management systems and team working.

You will be part of a team that;

What is your role in this?

The role involves handling multiple budgets, line management of staff and management of operational inter-dependencies across the department as well as working with other departments and external partner organisations and stakeholders.

  • Ensure successful delivery of 50 Groups managing governance, committees, budgets, member participation and digital presence as well as progressing potential new groups
  • Build a delivery schedule for Business Innovation and Growth Group (network to support entrepreneurs and physicists/innovators in small, medium and large businesses), running workshops and events across nations and regions
  • Run sector-focussed open innovation programmes to address industry challenges
  • Deliver the IOP's prestigious Awards programme (science awards, honorary fellows, Philips award), including coordination across other departments and marketing to stakeholders
  • Increase engagement and impact of Business awards, ensuring high value to winnersSecure sponsorship of programmes (in kind and cash)
  • Identify and manage partnerships to add value to programmes, adding delivery capacity and expanding market reach
  • Drive gender, regional, institutional and business inclusivity across programmes
  • Monitor, evaluate and report impact of programmes.
  • Carry out business development activities to identify new areas where the Institute can add value and impact in science and innovation
  • Lead business innovation and entrepreneurial workshops to support entrepreneurial physicists and start-up businesses.
  • Manage relationships with senior level stakeholders including the Institute's members, it's Science & Innovation and Groups Committee members, as well as political, academic and industrial contacts
  • Maintain awareness of the science and innovation political and funding landscape.
