We are delighted not be working with an exciting and innovative Science and Education charity to hire a temporary Marketing Assistant to assist with the delivery of marketing activities to engage with Teacher member networks. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with a range of stakeholders, delivering presentations and organising events.

What will my responsibilities be?

  • Coordinate the planning, organisation, promotion, and on-the-day running of university-based events - travel throughout the UK including some overnight stay is required
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at events, sometimes to large audiences
  • Coordinate the planning, promotion and on-the-day running of a series of webinars
  • Take the lead in organising an annual Teacher Training Scholarships celebration event
  • Work with internal and external design agencies to create and update marketing materials both on and offline
  • Assist with planning an annual schedule of events for teacher recruitment
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the ITE marketing plan
  • Carry out basic market research and activity evaluation
  • Coordinate the Institute's School Experience Programme:
    • Maintain database of contacts
    • Match prospective teachers with schools for experience
    • Update marketing literature
  • Monitor and report on spending for events
  • Keep prospective teacher, scholar and school data up-to-date using Salesforce
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

What do I need to be successful in this post?

  • Some proven experience of event organisation
  • Experience in delivering presentations or addressing large audiences
  • Experience of using standard email, spreadsheet and word processing packages
  • Experience in working with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of working with university departments or teachers
  • Experience in working with databases

We are seeking an experienced Online Community Manager to work with a government agency on a ground-breaking digital platform to support London's diverse community. The successful candidate will lead on delivering the vision and roadmap for this online community, ensuring that it continuously improves as a digital product, grows and delivers healthy levels of activity in involving Londoners in a sustained and meaningful debate, research and consultation.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to use your knowledge and experience forward and be part of a unique and project enabling communities to directly impact policy. This is a temporary role for a minimum of 4 months, and the successful candidate will have the option to apply for the permanent position.

What do you need?

  • Demonstrable experience managing an online community or similar role.
  • Demonstrable experience managing a digital product.
  • Experience in content management systems (CMS) and email campaign software
  • Experience and skill across a range of outreach and promotional methods including social media management, web content and email campaigns - and ideally also earned and paid media (such as engaging influencers and purchasing social media advertising)
  • Genuine interest in nature and subject matter of this role and a finger on the industry pulse, awareness of similar products and new developments
  • Good understanding of legal issues involved in online moderation and data protection
  • Good working knowledge of Google Analytics and/or other tools for web analytics
  • Some knowledge and understanding of public consultation and engagement best practice


What will my role entail?

  • To take ownership of the digital roadmap and oversee agency teams of developers. Owning the backlog of work - creating, prioritising and managing stories and bugs, continuously inputting into work and testing progress.
  • Being a key and active daily member of agile teams.
  • To proactively ensure that content, functionality, operation and user experience are in accordance with industry-wide standards for citizen engagement. To raise bugs with the technical support agency as and when they arise and ensure that fixes happen quickly.
  • Lead on the delivery of the growth strategy, balancing the need to both expand the membership and ensure it reflects the London population at large. Monitor success of activity and growth strategies by working with colleagues to deliver dashboards and reports on a regular basis.
  • To harness all available user insight (including face-to-face user testing resources, satisfaction surveys, tracking tools such as HotJar and ad hoc user feedback) to improve the product.
  • To oversee content and communications, upholding editorial guidelines and overseeing content lifecycles - ensuring that the impact of activity on the site is visible and known.

We are delighted to be working with the National Education Union, as they have 3 vacancies for the post of the AdviceLine adviser in their Doncaster Office for 3 months in the first instance

What will my responsibilities be?

The posts are to provide cover during a transitional period in which the AdviceLine will be advising new categories of member. This is an office based role and duties will include responding to inquiries from members; offering initial advice; and identifying and referring appropriately for casework support, on a wide range of issues relating to teachers' employment including members' salaries, maternity/paternity rights, pensions, and working conditions.

What do I need to be successful in this post?

The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral and will have the experience and ability to advise by telephone and email. They'll also have an understanding of the needs of a democratic membership organisation, be flexible and to work as part of a team as well as independently exercising their own initiative, to deal confidently with Union members and to respect confidentiality, will all be key.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate multi-tasking skills and be highly organised in order to handle the daily work-load that comprises of but is not limited to, call-handling, email responses, self-development work, and research. Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, excellent listening skills and the ability quickly understand our members issue and provide accurate and relevant advice are also essential skills as is the ability the clearly input and update information on our various databases/IT systems.

The Adviceline Office hours are 9am to 7pm operating on a rota basis to cover full opening hours.
