Membership Assistant (6 month FTC)

We are working with an established environmental membership association dedicated to fostering the science of ecology. With over 6,400 members around the world and they bring people together across regional, national and global scales to advance ecological science. They are now looking to hire a Membership Assistant for a period of 6 months, to provide front line support to all members and the wider organisation.

What would my responsibilities be?

  • Process membership applications and payments
  • Answer membership queries
  • Ensure that member records and data protection preferences are kept up to date on the membership database
  • Produce membership and financial reports from the database as required
  • Take minutes at the Membership Services Committee meeting and notes for other membership-related meetings
  • Coordinate member mailings including annual renewals and relevant reminders
  • Seek to improve the efficiency of membership processes
  • Work with the Membership Manager to deliver retention and acquisition initiatives
  • Support the Membership Manager in providing excellent customer service to members and prospective members
  • Assist the Society Programmes Team in preparation for and attendance at the Society's Annual Meetings
  • Assist the Membership Manager in the delivery of membership social media messaging
  • Develop, distribute and evaluate the monthly eBulletin
  • Support the wider activities of the Society Programmes Team

Experience

Essential
The successful candidate will be educated to a degree level and have at least 6 months experience working in a team supporting role in an office or customer service environment.

Desirable
Experience of working in a membership organisation

Membership Administrator (4-6 weeks)

  • £12 - £13 per hour

Interim Membership Marketing Officer

We have an opportunity to support the Membership team of leading medical Royal College for a period of 4-6 weeks months. The successful candidate will be liaising directly with members to answer their queries and process their payments

What will my responsibilities be?

Administration

Answering calls from members

  • Taking payments over the phone
  • Answering queries about membership categories
  • Issuing new renewal paperwork where required

Processing payments

  • Credit Card payments through Sagepay over the phone
  • Cheques
  • Setting up Direct Debits
  • Matching off bank transfers

Updating Integra

  • Payment details
  • Direct Debit details
  • Other contact detail updates
  • Sending receipts generated via Integra
  • Collating joining packs for new members

What experience do I need to be successful in this post?

Following a multi-million pound redevelopment of the London site and successful re-launch of a new membership programme and visitor giving strategy for the organisation, the aim is to grow significantly the number of reach of Members and Visitor Supporters and to ensure that all of them on site and online have the opportunity to enjoy a positive relationship with the organisation and to engage fully with the fundraising vision.

The post holder will play a major role in developing and delivering the organisations Membership and Visitor Supporters Strategy as key elements in the organisations Annual Fund.
